Worldcall are title sponsors of Pakistan-England T20 series in Dubai

WorldCall Telecom Limited (WTL), an Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), are the title sponsors of the Pakistan-England Twenty20 series to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month. England will be arriving in Dubai on February 14 and play the Twenty20 world champions before flying to Bangladesh on February 21. The matches will be held on February 19 and 20 at the Dubai Sports City Stadium. The name of the series is ‘Worldcall Twenty20 Challenge.’

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expecting a good return from the series as a sport management company of Dubai, Chapal Sports, has signed a multi-million rupees deal with the Dubai Sports City. Under the agreement, the company holds all media and sponsorship rights for the series including ground advertising, title and other sponsorship and endorsement possibilities with players of both teams. Pakistan play just one Twenty20 match in Australia and then the two games against England before the Twenty20 World Cup.

Worldcall CEO Babar Ali Syed said in a statement that they were delighted to be the title sponsors of the Twenty20 series. “Considering that the world’s number one T20 team is up against a very competitive England side just before the T20 World Cup, the level of interest from cricket fans is enormous.” He said Worldcall had now entered the arena of cricket and would sponsor more cricketing events in future. “Worldcall will always have the cricket passion on top of everything and especially when it comes to supporting Pakistan cricket. We are confident that Pakistan will put up a wonderful show in Dubai to entertain their fans,” he added.

Chapal Sports is a UAE based full-spectrum sports management company, owned by the renowned real estate developers and master planners, the Chapal Group. Their scope of business includes sports events management, sports rights acquisition and re-selling, sports personalities’ management, developing and executing sports related mega events and projects. Having its head office in Dubai and branch offices in Karachi and London, the company primarily focuses on cricket besides other interests in hockey, soccer, golf and polo.
