England travel to Dublin as the overwhelming favourites for the one off ODI game against Ireland ahead of the five game 50-over series against India next month.
Eoin Morgan will captain the side as regular skipper Ali cook rests following his exploits against India in the test series, and Morgan is 2/7 to lead England to success against his countrymen who are clear second favourites at around 5/2.
Ireland were able to upset the odds at the World Cup earlier this year as Kevin O’Brien’s quick-fire century helped his side to a famous victory over England, but a repeat performance is unlikely despite the presence of both O’Brien brothers and former England batsman Ed Joyce.
England look set to field an experimental side that could feature four debutants in the form of Leicestershire’s James Taylor, Yorkshire's Jonathan Bairstow, Durham's Ben Stokes and Scott Borthwick who have all been included in the 13 man squad following good performances in the England Lions ODI series win against Sri Lanka A.
Having been called back into the side for England’s one-day series win over Sri Lanka earlier in the summer, the big hitting Craig Kieswetter could inflict some serious damage and is the favourite to end the game the highest run scorer.
The Somerset wicketkeeper batsman is placed at around 7/2 and will look to get England off to a quick start with a series of his trademark big hits, while England are 8/11 to score the most sixes, a likely outcome should Kieswetter free his arms. If free bets bet365 are your thing it is worth a punt on Kieswetter with a lack of big hitting first name players around in the England team.
England’s main troubles of late have come from an inability to make best use of the power plays in one over cricket so it may well be worth backing Ireland to record the highest score in the first ten overs.
The home side are 13/8 to outscore England in the first ten overs which represents good odds if you want to take up Bookmakers Free Bets, and with Ed Joyce batting at three and the joint favourite to lead the run scoring at 7/2, it could well happen.
